St Jamess Palace 2001

Roger Pope 25th Anniversary Party at St James' Palace

St James’s Palace – home to British monarchs for 17 generations - saw an unprecedented celebration as Roger Pope & Partners celebrated 25 years in business.

As a Royal Warrant Holder, Roger Pope, raised his glass to nearly 350 longstanding customers, colleagues, ophthalmologists and suppliers, thanking them for their loyal support.

Since opening the doors of his practice in Marylebone 25 years ago, Mr Pope and his colleagues have gained a reputation for looking after the visual requirements of a broad cross section of British society as well as overseas visitors who want the very best of vision. His discretion, and passion to seek out the very best optical products from around the world, has earned the business an unrivalled following, culminating in the accolade of gaining a Royal Warrant for Her Majesty The Queen in 2006.

“Who would have thought we would be here today after opening our doors, with some trepidation, in New Cavendish Street 25 years ago. I would like to thank all of those friends who have supported the business during the years,” said Roger.

Today with a sister practice in Dulwich Village, Roger Pope with his business partner and fellow optician, Stephen Hopkinson, employ seven dispensing opticians and five optometrists.

“We would like to thank the wonderful loyalty, enthusiasm and dedication of our staff during this time for providing the very best in eye examinations and service.”

"Thank you so much for inviting me to your reception at St James' Palace on Wednesday evening. It was a truly memorable evening. I really cannot thank you enough for including me in such a very special occasion"

"Optics - and ophthalmology - has been buzzing with your amazing achievement. May I add my personal congratulations. Yours is a flagship career conducted in flagship practice"

"Thank you very much for allowing me to share the joy of celebrating the occasion of twenty five years of success as a result of the hard work you and your colleagues have put in. It was a splendid occasion in splendid surroundings. Absolutely the standards that befits Roger Pope, the establishment"

"Just a short note to thank you for a quite marvellous evening. I spoke to quite a few of your clients who obviously hold you in very high esteem"

What a splendid venue it was yesterday evening! Thank you very much indeed for inviting us both. I think the evening did you proud for your 25 years in business.
